This photo submitted by Alexander Kozhekin is a nice effort, but it's not quite there. The red mooring overpowers the brown water. The cropping of the sky at the top of the picture could be improved. I would include either more sky or just a little less sky. This is a nice example of using light to your advantage, as you can see the sun is coming from the left of the picture defining the wave and the white waters. The picture would benefit from a little less sharpening. Lastly I am not a big fan of frames, but that is a personal preference. A suggestion for a little different approach, if using the red mooring to shock the viewer's attention why not leave the mooring red and convert the rest of the picture to black-and-white?
