This is a cool technique to add some character to an image that seems kind of bland. The orange and yellow streaking and flaring that this tutorial produces really give the images a nostalgic, "found" quality. When coupled with the earlier tutorial on getting a vintage film effect this can be great for taking a digital image of say, you and your spouse, and aging it to look like an old '70s photo.
