After a slight lull last week, the galleries are back in full force, probably getting in a few final bashes before people start seriously vacating the city on weekends and the scene goes dormant until fall. Most of the shows going up now are reviews or drawn from permanent collections and will be on view through September--but that doesn't mean they're all on cruise control. Yancey Richardson's Easy Rider show sounds intriguing and, as usual, deftly curated. The Lumas Soho At the Beach show takes on an apt subject, but refuses to treat it shallowly. And the Karine Laval and Jason Langer shows at Bonni Benrubi may examine leisure activities and long night walks, but they are hardly a vacation for the intellect.
