Digital photo frames make nice gifts for the family man or woman who keeps cute snapshots of the kids for his or her desk. But for the more serious photographer, the small sizes (most reasonably priced ones have screens only 5×7 inches) and desktop design just don’t cut it. We want large, wall mounted, well-lit, clear photographs on our walls whether they are digital or print.

If you’re handy and have a discarded laptop, you can make your own large digital frame. Follow the instructions posted on Shuttertalk by Rob Will, and in an afternoon you can create your own wall mounted digital photo frame for a lot less money.
