When I heard of this little program for point-and-shoot owners who don’t have a clue about how to correct their pictures, I had my doubts. But Photobot could do wonders for their pictures and their attitude towards the digital age.
Photobot (www.photobot.com), from Tribeca Labs in New York, can help snapshooters improve common mistakes. The easy-to-load application ($30, direct), searches through your computer looking for pictures to fix. Photobot then makes simple corrections, such as opening up shadows and fixing redeye, to your selected photos. (If you don’t like the idea of software running rampant through your files, choose Custom Scan in the preference selection during the program setup. This allows you to create a specific folder that Photobot has access to scan and fix pictures.)
