A fellow reader answers last week’s letter:

Dear Editor:

I have read your magazine for many years and have developed immense respect for the regular contributors to your magazine content. Therefore, I was stunned when I read your response to Seymour Topor in your May 2007 issue, headlined “Digital Photography 101.” Someone must have misunderstood the question, because it was a reasonable question and surely someone on your staff knew the right answer(s).

The question was “My Canon EOS Elan with a 28—80mm lens is equal to how many megapixels?”

The quick, easy answer is 33.3. The complex “reading between the lines” answer is 12.5.
