Flickr Pro Accounts are back

I’ve had a Flickr Pro account since roughly 2008. Since then, the service has gone through a rather insane number of changes, including the nixing of the Pro account level all together. Now, however, they’re bringing back Flickr Pro and all the trimmings you’d expect are coming with it.

Being a Pro also gets rid of all the ads, both on the back end when you’re using your account as well as the front end when you’re sharing a photo. So, if you’re upgraded, you pretty much won’t see ads as part of the Flickr experience.

The stats module has been substantially upgraded, so you can see more insights about how people are looking at your photos. I haven’t actually been using Flickr much in the past few years, so I was a bit surprised to see how many views my photos actually have.

The other notable benefit is that you get 20% off of the Adobe Creative Cloud packages if you sign up for the year, which helps offset the cost of the Pro membership, for which you’ll pay $5.99 per month or $49 per year. If you’re still holding onto grandfather status from a very old account, you can keep your original pricing ($25 per year) and still enjoy all the Pro perks.
