Kuvva is a free app for Mac and iPhone that dynamically curates beautiful backgrounds for your device. Their selection now includes photography from Foam Magazine.

You can’t entirely control which images appear, you can set how often you want you background to refresh. Options include: hourly, twice a day, daily and weekly. However once you settle in on one background, you can switch the app to “manual,” and keep that image up for as long as your heart desires. You can also pick your image feed based on either the most popular photos or featured artists.

I set Kuvva to pull from “Popular” on my iMac and after a few refreshes, settled on the work of Lucas Blablock.

Other photographers included from Foam are Maroesjka Lavigne, Tomoe Murakami, Marleen Sleeuwits, Grace Kim and Esther Teichmann.

If you’ve never heard of Foam, it is a very cool quarterly magazine that concentrates on the international photography community, featuring portfolios adn interviews with both well-known and obscure photographers.

Truthfully, I had intended on uninstalling the app after I played with it a bit, but instead found that keeping it set on hourly offers some much needed inspiration. My only complaint is that you can’t sort the image feed based solely on photography.

You can also check out some background info on all of Foam magazine talents features on the app by hoping over to the Kuvva blog.
