**FROM OUR EDITORS AT PHOTOKINA: **To go with this morning’s announcement of their new flagship DSLR, the SD1, Sigma has also introduced two new fast lenses to be released in the coming months.

The first is the APO Macro 150mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM, which replaces the original version brought to market in 2004. The biggest upgrade comes in the form of Sigmas OS (optical stabilizer) which offers up to four extra stops before hand-holding turns into camera shake. Three Special Low Dispersion elements help cut down on aberration and their Super Multi-layer Coating takes care of ghosting and flare. Plus, the 9-blade diaghragm should create nice, smooth bokeh.

The APO 120-300mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM replaces the older APO 120-300mm F2.8 EX DG HSM. It gets similar upgrades to the 150mm macro, including the four-stop OS, Super Multi-Layer coatings to fight flare and full-time manual focus override. Like the 150mm lens, it also has a 9 blade diaphragm, and a Hyper Sonic Motor for quiet AF.

Sigma hasn’t come forward with pricing or release date details yet, but they’re making it very clear that their focus is on improved image quality across the board for their new glass. We hope to have more info soon.
