Review: Back in the 80's, Nikon made a 50-135mm f/3.5 Nikon zoom that was a terrific people lens; great for portraits. I had one issued to me as a staffer and was not paying attention when it was traded in by the manager. This lens made up for all that. Sharp and high contrast even wide open, this is a pro lens at all focal lengths. I love being able to disengage the auto focus with just a push on the focus ring. My D200 is fitted with a Katz Eye focusing screen with split image and micro prism just like the good old manual focus SLR's. Although I prefer to hand focus whenever possible, this lens does just fine on auto.
