Pentax-DA-Zoom 50-200mm f/4-5.6

Pentax - DA-Zoom 50-200mm f/4-5.6 Review

What's Hot: Color, sharpness, handy zoom range.

What's Not: Can't use pop-up flash in darker places. (but who cares?)

Review: This lens is an awesome value. At only $250, with a zoom range like that, you would expect a glaring issue or two, but so far, the only problem I've had is wanting to take wide angle shots when I have this zoom on the cam ;-).

I would highly recommend this to current-gen pentax DSLR users who want a nice mid-zoom without paying out the nose.

The pop-up flash will cause a sharp shadow if you have the zoom extended. And to that end, I also wouldn't recommend trying to take low-light or indoor shots using this lens, unless I had a tripod, and some very stationary stuff to photograph. As with most long-zooms, this lens is a bit on the slow side. (f/4-5.6)

Again, at this price, I'd say this is almost a no-brainer for anyone wishing they could get in closer. I found it a really nice compliment to my lens bag, and frankly, for 250, I was expecting some noticable distortion which never happend.
