Review: This is the beast of DSLRs. Learn to tame it and your photos will be pro class. Honestly, it took me a week or so to start turning out photos that did not deserve the trash can. Reading the manual helped, but you just have to shoot a lot to get to "one-ness with the camera."
For example, WB set on "cloudy" with a EV of +2 seems to be the right combination for a "sunny" day. Similarly, punch up the CCD to "vivid" outdoors and "normal" for indoors.
The camera is rock solid, but getting your mind wrapped around it is a another matter.
As for lenses... get the Nikon 18-200mm VR and you will never take it off (at least outdoors).
