One of Nikon’s most versatile and solid-built primes.
We spent the past few weeks testing out Nikon’s new 85mm f/1.4G lens—we brought it everywhere from concerts to pumpkin carving competitions, from the rooftops of New York City to our apartment. The result? A series of extremely sharp and crisp images with beautiful bokeh at f/1.4. In terms of ergonomics, the lens feels extremely sturdy and well built. It is slightly larger than the older Nikon 85mm f/1.4D lens. The weather-sealing and quality of the glass is the first thing we noticed upon picking it up. It also focuses extremely quietly thanks to Nikons Silent Wave Motor.
