Fujifilm X-series is still something of a fledgeling in the camera world, so there isn't exactly an abundance of lens options out there for it. But that number is set to balloon according to a new lens roadmap, starting with the freshly announced FUJINON XF55-200mm F3.5-4.8 R LM OIS for the X-Pro1 and X-E1.

Fujifilm’s elegantly retro X-Pro1 wowed us with great images, a cool hybrid viewfinder, and a comfortable set of controls when we tested it for our June 2012 issue. But its slightly sluggish autofocus and irksome manual focusing tempered our excitement. Plus, its $1,700 price tag (body only) put it out of reach for many photographers.

Earlier this month, we reported that a consortium including Apple and Google was looking to pick up a patent suite from the bankrupt imaging giant Kodak. Now it seems that Kodak has accepted the $525 million offer, and assuming everything gets approved, will hand over its digital imaging portfolio to some of the biggest names in technology.

Fujifilm has just announced a new compact superzoom which will be hitting the market August of this year. The FinePix F800EXR takes advantage of Fujifilm's EXR sensor technology, and puts a huge zoom lens on the front of it. The glass on the F800EXR runs 25-500mm full-frame equivalent. That gives it a 20x zoom factor, but leaves you with a maximum aperture range of f/3.5-5.3.
