Earlier in 2012, photographer David Byrne was awarded the title Landscape Photographer of the Year by the organization Take a View, but it has since come out that the shots that Byrne took were so heavily edited — and potentially even plagiarized — that the title has been stripped and awarded to another photographer.

The annual Worldwide Photo Walk is the world's largest photography gathering, attracting near 30,000 attendees at 1,000 walks around the world. Organized by Scott Kelby, these free get-togethers are taking place over this weekend, and all you have to do to sign up is find a walk near you, and put your name on the list — and yes, it's free.

As part of the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival held in Washington D.C., the festival organizers teamed up with FotoDC to create the National Cherry Blossom Photo Contest, a photo contest open to any and all who attended the event, with cash and prizes to the top three in any category. The contest was divided into three sections: Landscape, Festivities and People, and the winners for all three have just been announced.
