Conurus and Metabones have teamed up to create a new lens adapter, one which allows you to put your canon EF-mounts onto a Sony NEX body. Set to go for $399, the Smart Adapter manages to bring an admirable level of electronic communication between the body and lens. EXIF data transmits accurately, electronic aperture control works, as does image stabilization, and PASM shooting modes. The only glaring deficit is autofocus, which is something you rarely see in lens adapters.

The G1 X is the new king of the Canon compact castle, but it's not their only new camera. Two new Elph cameras bring the line back to its compact, but relatively boxy looks.The $299 Elph 520 HS has a 10.1-megapixel High-Sensitivity CMOS sensor as well as a 12x optical zoom lens starting at 28mm (28-336mm equivalent). It shoots 1080p HD video, has a 3-inch LCD screen and high-speed burst mode capable of grabbing 6.8 fps. That's aided by the inclusion of the Digic 5 processor.

Canon's PowerShot S90 had a lot going for it when it was announced a few years ago. It was small, powerful, and provided a nice bridge between the flagship G-series and the rest of the PowerShot line. The S95 came a year later, bringing with it only minor updates, including HD video and a new body coating, which made it easier to hold. But now the S100 is upon us. It looks different than those that came before it, and the guts have gotten a serious overhaul.

Compared to most other fisheye prime lenses, Canon's 8-15mm F/4 zoom lens is actually very versatile. But, unless you already have one in your bag, it's hard to get a handle on exactly how fishy things get with a fisheye, so we put together a little video demonstration that shows what you'll get on both a full-frame and a crop body.
