Casio Releases Exilim Zoom EX-Z150

Casio has introduced a new ultracompact 8.1-megapixel point-and-shoot. The Exilim Zoom EX-Z150 features an f/2.6-5.9, 28mm-112mm 4x zoom lens (35mm equivalent); a 230,000-dot, 3-inch LCD; and sensor-shift optical image stabilization.

In addition to a plethora of "Best Shot" scene modes and other automatic settings, the EX-Z150 provides a good selection of image fine-tuning tools, including pan and manual focus modes, and spot and center-weighted metering. Its shutter speed range runs from 1/2000 to 4 seconds, and its light-sensitivity range from ISO 64 to ISO 1600. Handy features on the camera include a triple self-timer and face detection. The EX-Z150 captures smooth VGA-resolution Motion JPEG video with sound, and its voice recording function allows photographers to annotate stills or create separate audio files.

The EX-Z150 will be available in September 2008 for a retail price of $199.99. It will come in five finishes -- pink, green, red, black, and silver.
