Phase One Releases Capture One 4.1

The new version of Phase One's RAW workflow software offers tethered shooting and improved image correction.

May 22, 2008

Phase One has released an update to its RAW workflow software. Capture One 4.1 features tethered shooting with Phase One digital backs, Lens+ and Focus+ technologies, and a Hot Folder feature. The new version also offers expanded compatibility with camera RAW files. A full list of supported cameras is available on Phase One's Web site.

Lens+ and Focus+ correct optical flaws such as chromatic aberration and improve sharpness. Those features will initially be available for images shot with Phase One backs used with Mamiya bodies and Mamiya and Phase One lenses.

The new Hot Folder feature allows tethered shooting with cameras that are not supported by Phase One's system. The photographer uses the camera manufacturer's tethered-shooting software--if available--and Hot Folders pulls the images into Capture One as they are captured.

Capture One 4.1 is available from Phase One's Web site as a free upgrade to current Capture One 4 owners, a 30-day free trial, or a $129 purchase.
