Akvis Introduces Sketch 7.0

The new version adds motion effects, selective blurring, and blending tools.

May 1, 2008

Akvis has upgraded its Sketch software to version 7.0. The effects program lets photographers give their images the look of pencil, charcoal, and watercolor paintings and drawings. Sketch 7.0 improves on earlier versions with motion effects, a selective blurring tool, a "time machine" effect that distorts the image background, and a tool that blends the original image with a final drawing.

Windows and Mac versions of Sketch 7.0 are available from Akvis's Web site. It can be purchased for $72 as a standalone program or a plug-in for Photoshop and other image editors. Standalone and plug-in versions can also be purchased together for $89. Owners of previous versions can upgrade for free, and a 10-day free trial is available for new users to download.
