ExpoImaging Introduces Ray Flash

ExpoImaging has introduced a new flash accessory for hot shoe flash units that replicates the shadowless frontal illumination and soft edge shadows of a studio ring flash. When attached to a camera-mounted flash unit, the Ray Flash channels the light from the flash to a ring that encircles the camera lens. The 16-ounce accessory slides over the front of the flash unit and locks into position around the lens. According to ExpoImaging, using it reduces flash output by just one stop, with no loss of TTL metering capability. The Ray Flash's 4 1/8-inch internal diameter makes it compatible with most lenses.

The Ray Flash is currently available for $299 in sizes that fit Nikon SB-800 and Canon Speedlite 580EX I and II flash units. Visit ExpoImaging's Web site for more information.
