Charmed Labs Launches Panoramic Camera Platform Beta

Charmed Labs has launched a public beta of the GigaPan robotic camera platform announced earlier this year. The company will sell 400 units at an introductory $279 price to testers who apply by October 19, 2007. Applicants will be notified by October 26 as to whether a unit will be made available to them. Photographers who purchase a beta unit will be expected to provide feedback to Charmed Labs. To apply for a beta unit, fill out the form on the Charmed Labs Web site.

The GigaPan platform is designed to work with a wide variety of digital cameras to capture multi-gigapixel panoramas that can be viewed, navigated, and magnified with the GigaPan online viewer. To explore a collection of more than 600 panoramas with the GigaPan viewer, or as a built-in layer of Google Earth, go to the GigaPan Web site.
