Epson has announced a new inkjet paper that the company says has an exceptionally high 2.6 D-max and a look and feel akin to that of fiber-based silver halide paper. If it lives up to Epson's claims, Exhibition Fiber will produce both high-quality color prints and black-and-white images with an outstanding tonal range.
Epson collaborated with Pixel Genius, a group of digital workflow experts, to create the color profiles for Exhibition Fiber. They will be available for download beginning on October 15, 2007, at www.pixelgenius.com/epson. Information on setting up a color-managed workflow will also be published on that site.
Exhibition Fiber will be available in November 2007 in 25-sheet packages of 8.5x11-, 13x19-, 17x22-, and 24x30-inch paper. Pricing has not yet been announced, but Epson says it will be competitive with the other premium fine-art papers.
