Wacom Launches Bamboo Fun Tablet

Wacom has introduced a new pen tablet, the Bamboo Fun. Part of the company's new consumer-oriented Bamboo line, the Fun model is designed to meet the needs of photographers who want to retouch and paint their work. It comes with a software bundle that includes Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 for Windows and Elements 4 for Mac, Nik Color Efex Pro 2 GE, and Corel Painter Essentials 3.

In addition to a textured work surface, the tablet provides four programmable ExpressKeys for quick access to frequently used commands and a finger-sensitive Touch Ring for zooming and scrolling. The tablet is accompanied by both a compatible mouse and wireless pen with pressure-sensitive "writing" and "erasing" tips.

The Bamboo Fun is available in two sizes and four colors -- black, silver, white, and blue. The small version has a 5.8x3.7-inch work space and costs $99.99; the medium-size tablet has an 8.5x5.3-inch work space and costs $199.99. For more information, go to Wacom's Bamboo Web site.
