The online photo marketing and archiving service Digital Railroad has launched a beta version of a new platform for stock photo requests. Part of Digital Railroad's Marketplace stock photography commerce area, Research Network allows buyers to anonymously submit requests for images.
Photographers and agencies who are Digital Railroad members can view the requests as they are submitted in an interactive forum. As photographers respond to requests, buyers can view aggregated responses and purchase the photos that meet their needs through Marketplace e-commerce tools or by contacting Marketplace staff.
The Research Network is available only to Digital Railroad members, who can make and respond to image requests free of charge. Digital Railroad points out that the new platform expands the opportunity for photographers to meet buyers' needs by submitting scans of film photographs that have not yet been archived online.
