Microsoft Holds Online Media Contest

The company's new Crossfader site will award a $9000 digital media package to online media in imaging, video, and audio categories.

Microsoft Holds Online Media Contest
Sorry all you Uzbeki Mac users. The contest is open only to U.S. residents who create on a PC.

Microsoft is giving its recently relaunched Crossfader Web site a boost by running an online media contest. The digital-arts community site will award a $9000 software and hardware package to the winner, and 14 runners-up will receive smaller media-creation packages.

Work may be submitted in imaging, video, and audio categories, and must be available on the Web between May 10 and 17, 2007. Finalists must also submit a three-minute video documenting the work’s creation by May 31. And don’t even think about submitting an image portfolio you edited on a Mac (or if you live outside the U.S. for that matter). According to the contest rules, “Participants must use a PC to create their work.” To read the rest of the rules, go to the Crossfader Web site at www.crossfader.com.
