Other World Computing announced today the highest capacity, fastest portable storage drive available. The Mercury On-The-Go portable hard drive boasts 160 gigabytes of storage space at 7200 RPM -- 60 GB more than the next highest capacity portable drive at that speed.

The Mercury, which fits in the palm of one’s hand, is also equipped with both FireWire 800/400 and USB2 interfaces, and is compatible with all gadgets, including digital cameras and camcorders, that use either FireWire or USB. The drive, which is available now for $279.99, comes complete with Prosoft DataRescue III for Mac OS X and NovaStor NovaBackup for Windows to help back up files.
