LAS VEGAS -- Sigma unveiled an amazingly huge 200-500mm f/2.8 lens at PMA this morning. The constant aperture zoom weighs in at over 35 pounds. Because of the size of this massive piece of glass, it incorporates an LCD display for focal distance near the lens mount, instead of the normal mechanical scale.

This lens will ship with a 2x teleconverter, which will make it a 400-1000mm f/5.6 constant aperture zoom, which will still autofocus. It also accepts drop-in filters.

No price has been set as of yet, and it should be available before the end of 2007 for Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts.
