HP has introduced a new portable 4x6 inkjet printer dock. The Photosmart A440 Printer Dock has a built-in carrying handle, support for an optional battery, and an image-preview LCD. It outputs prints at resolutions up to 4800x1200 dpi, and provides functions for removing redeye and opening up dark shadows. The A440 uses a three-ink cartridge that contains HP's Vivera dye-based inks. Compatible HP cameras fit in the dock on top of the printer to transmit images. The dock also charges the camera battery.
The A440 Printer Dock will be available in April 2007 and will be sold alone and in packages that include an M437 or M537 camera. Prices will range from $179 to $199.
