Sigma to Ship SD14 Digital SLR in March
One of our key criticisms of the Sigma SD9 and SD10 was that neither captured JPEG files. The SD14 ($1,600, estimated street, body only), Sigma's first new DSLR in three years, captures either JPEGs or RAW files, although there's no RAW + JPEG mode. Learn more from our Hands On Review.
Sigma will soon begin selling the SD14 digital SLR that it announced at Photokina in September 2006. According to Sigma, the SD14, which uses a 14-megapixel Foveon X3 sensor, was delayed in order for the company to make numerous firmware and other improvements. It will be available in body-only kits beginning in early March 2007. The kit retail price is $1999, but street prices are expected to be closer to $1600.
