| One of our key criticisms of the Sigma SD9 and SD10 was that neither captured JPEG files. The SD14 ($1,600, estimated street, body only), Sigma's first new DSLR in three years, captures either JPEGs or RAW files, although there's no RAW + JPEG mode. Learn more from our Hands On Review. |
Sigma will soon begin selling the SD14 digital SLR that it announced at Photokina in September 2006. According to Sigma, the SD14, which uses a 14-megapixel Foveon X3 sensor, was delayed in order for the company to make numerous firmware and other improvements. It will be available in body-only kits beginning in early March 2007. The kit retail price is $1999, but street prices are expected to be closer to $1600.
