Leading up to CES, Pentax has announced the 7.1 megapixel Pentax Optio E30. With a suggested price of $149.00, this 3x zoom compact camera is targeted at the budget-minded and digital beginners.
The E30 is powered by AA batteries, and Pentax is estimating 200 shots on Alkalines, or 760 with Lithium AAs. There's a 2.4 inch LCD for framing and playback, and the E30 supports SDHC and conventional SD memory cards.
The Pentax Optio E30 is expected to be in stores in February 2007.
