The folks running Macworld Conference & Expo want photographers everywhere to know that the yearly event is not just about iPods. In fact, 2007's meeting, taking place January 8-12 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, has several items of interest for shutterbugs, from lectures to software workshops.
Here is a rundown of what to expect:
* A presentation from Joel Meyerowitz, the photographer and digital printing pioneer, during which he’ll share images and experiences from his 40-year career.
* The Users’ Conferences, featuring numerous educational topics including "The Digital Camera of 2015" with New York Times technology columnist David Pogue, "Photoshop Uncanny Realism" with digital photo-realist painter and illustrator Bert Monroy, and "Digital Photography: Finding Your Personal Vision" with Steve Simon.
* Digital Photography Day: A one-day interactive training course with instruction from professional photographers.
* Digital Photography Clinic: Members of the American Society of Media Photographers will provide feedback for attendees who bring their prints, cameras, and cables to the lesson.
* Power Tools: Training sessions for imaging software, including Aperture and Photoshop.
* A chance to learn from Adobe Creative Director Russell Brown, Photoshop artist Bert Monroy, and author and consultant, Deke McClelland.
