| Leaf will introduce at Photokina three new camera backs including the Aptus 75S. |
Leaf will introduce a new series that they are touting as the “world’s fastest digital camera backs” at Photokina 2006. The new Leaf Aptus S-Series will include three new digital camera backs: Leaf Aptus 75S, Leaf Aptus 65S, and Leaf Aptus 54S—all with what the company is calling “recordbreaking speed rates and unlimited burst depths.”
The Leaf Aptus S-Series camera backs can deliver shooting speeds from 0.8 seconds per frame—or as many as 75 frames per minute—with unlimited burst depths. The camera backs in the new series use advanced, accelerated image-processing hardware, incorporating a new, lossless image-compression engine, designed to achieve record-breaking speeds. Leaf has doubled the CCD sensor readout speed in order to accelerate shooting speeds, and has doubled the buffer size, resulting in unlimited burst depths. The new series maximizes the newest SanDisk CompactFlash Extreme IV card technology for portable shooting, and incorporates the new Firewire 800 communication for maximum speed. It offers sensitivity levels up to 800 ISO.
As the world’s first and only camera back with a built-in 6 x 7 cm touch screen LCD, the Leaf Aptus is designed to allow professional photographers to work intuitively, accessing any point on the RAW image with one touch for quick evaluation. The large touch screen gives onetap access available in six languages, including Chinese and Japanese, to a variety of functions and predefined settings that photographers need both before and during the shoot.
The Leaf Aptus 75S offers 33 megapixel resolution, while the Leaf Aptus 65S features 28 megapixels, and the Leaf Aptus 54S offers 22 megapixel resolution.
Leaf digital camera backs and software will be on display at the Leaf stand during Photokina 2006. Their 254-sqm booth will offer product demonstrations, hands-on demos, and a view of Leaf Star Photographers at work. The booth will showcase three demonstration studios to represent a commercial studio, a fashion shoot, and a surprise main attraction.
