Duracell Powers up New PowerPix Batteries

New Batteries Offer NiOOH chemistry

February 2, 2006

PP0206_DuracellAA4NiOxDuracell has introduced a new line of batteries, called PowerPix, designed specifically to power digital cameras. The batteries use what Duracell calls NiOx Technology, based on Nickel Oxy Hydroxide (NiOOH) chemistry. This is the same chemistry found in Panasonic’s Oxy Nickel Hydroxide, Oxyride battery line-up.

Duracell’s PowerPix batteries are available in AA and AAA sizes. A 4-pack of PowerPix AA batteries has suggested retail price of $5.99.
