FREMONT, Calif. & TAIPEI, Taiwan--Oct. 31, 2005--InterVideo(R), Inc. (NASDAQ:IVII) and its partner Ulead(R) Systems, Inc., industry leaders in video, image and DVD software, today announced a new release of Ulead(R) Photo Express(R), the company's consumer image editing application enhanced with easy-to-use tools for photo editing, fun photo projects and photo collection management. Photo Express 6 includes new photo projects that enable users to convert photos and create animations that can be viewed on phones or mobile devices. The new version also increases creative options, makes browsing photo collections easier and integrates an intuitive Quick Task launcher that simplifies access to common editing and creativity tasks.
"Millions of people got their start in image editing with Photo Express and its forerunners," said Eldon C. M. Liu, president of Ulead. "Photo Express 6 is ready to help new generations of users discover the fun of digital imaging with its rewarding mix of editing, creativity and management."
Central Starting Point
The new Photo Express Quick Task Launcher gives users a central starting point for all their projects by providing an easy-to-understand palette of shortcuts to a wide range of program features. Using the launcher, users are able to directly open the tools needed to import photos from a camera, scanner or camcorder, browse photo collections, edit or enhance photos or create a card, calendar, photo album or other fun photo projects.
New Project Options
Photo Express 6 adds new categories of projects to the extensive set included in previous versions. Projects are now grouped in a single "Create" menu found in both browse and edit modes. Multi-page Photo Albums give users ready-to-use templates for creating themed presentations of complete sets of photos. Users can choose from a variety of motifs in landscape, portrait or scrapbook orientations. Photos are presented in groups of one to four photos per page and album pages can be personalized with custom titles & text labels, props, a personal signature and other decorations.
Mobile Image projects let users convert photos to show on phones or mobile devices. With the Mobile Animations tools, users can add fun, animated objects to photos and create animations to use on phones or other mobile devices. Four different Web projects are available including Web Pages, Web Albums, Web Cards and Web Shows. The Animate GIF projects feature can be used to turn photos into spinning Magic Cubes, add fantastic motion kaleidoscope effects, or blazing fireworks.
