From Liebowitz to Ritts--Famous Artists Are Showcased
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (September 20, 2005) - Internationally recognized names in art photography will showcase their photographs capturing the human body in an exhibit titled: A Passionate Image: The Body in Art and Advertising. Featuring photographers and artists including: Annie Liebowitz, Herb Ritts, Matthew Rolston and Bruce Weber, the exhibit is the first of its kind examining the intersection between art, advertising and the human form.
This exhibit includes art photographs and examples of print advertising that chronicle the many ways that art and advertising have influenced one another over the last 30 years. In the process, the show reveals how artists and particularly photographers have captured the sensual body, and how those images have been conveyed in diverse ways.
