Hunter S. Thompson is known for living the stories he told. Now an exhibition at M+B Gallery in Los Angeles is telling the stories of that life through photos by the legendary author of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

"GONZO," the exhibition organized by M+B and AMMO Books, will include never-before-seen photos from Thompson's personal archive, including self-portraits and personal moments, as well as images from his time as a foreign correspondent in Puerto Rico and on the road with the Hell's Angels.

The show, on view through January 20 at M+B Gallery at 612 N. Almont Dr., coincides with the release of a book, also titled GONZO, which chronicles Thompson's life through his own photographs and memorabilia. The book also contains stories about Thompson as told by his family and friends, including Jack Nicholson, Jimmy Carter, and Anjelica Huston.
