Major League Baseball has selected PhotoShelter as its online image archive and distribution platform.
The move allows photo editors at MLB to receive simultaneous image uploads from photographers around the world and then easily syndicate them to multiple distribution channels.
MLB Photos recently tested PhotoShelter's technology during the inaugural World Baseball Classic.
"In the days leading up to the World Baseball Classic, MLB Photos was faced with the challenge of moving thousands of images from our contributing photographers to multiple clients simultaneously," Paul Cunningham, Photo Editor for Major League Baseball Photos, explained in a release. "PhotoShelter's Multi-User platform proved to be a timely solution to a vexing problem."
PhotoShelter's multi-user platform is designed for use by organizations with image assets who want the ability to easily manage, license and distribute them. PhotoShelter MU is a "many user, single archive" system which allows users to set up groups of editors, contributors and clients with varying levels of access.
