Shot this on a road trip I took to the top of the Chesapeake Bay.
It's closest I have ever been to one of these awesome creatures. The Blue Heron is my all time favorite bird, and this guy was very patient with me. He even let me use my flash before flying away; of course he let out a loud squawk before leaving, letting me know I pushed it to far!
