Rock Steady

This iconic tree is well known among travelers along the northern portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. I used an B+W ND110 filter to allow a long exposure which softened the clouds enough to provide a pleasant contrast to the sharp, textured rocks in the foreground. The black and white conversion was done in Nik Silver Efex.
