One morning I saw this spider among the plants. I got my equipment, selected an angle that will sidelight the spider and framed the shot so that its web will be leading the eye into it. In Aperture priority mode, I use f 5.6, to have enough sharpness of the spider and enough blur on the web to add more emphasis on the spider and dimensionality for the whole picture.
Tripod mounted EOS20D, EF100mm Macro f2.8, ISO 400 at 1/125, f5.6. Raw capture processed in Lightroom 3.
