I shot this photo for a class at Grant MacEwan University. The assignment was to interpret a poem, "If I had my Life to Live Over", in a single photograph without text. I constructed the "memory board" to use as a background, then placed my model in front of it. I carefully arranged her necklace as well as the flower, which is a visual cue to a verse in the poem. Initial concepts had her smiling, but the simplistic expression and deep gaze in this shot won me over.
