The Joys of Summer

There is this location nearby that I've had my eye on for a few years. It is a field with one large tree in the middle. Hanging from the tree is an old tire swing. I contacted a friend and asked if I could use his 8 year old son to be my subject.
I had always planned to shoot this scene late in the day when a setting sun would also be part of the scene.
I employed an off camera tripod-mounted flash, remotely triggered, to be able to counteract the sun, and avoid a silhouette.
