My first night in Joshua Tree National Park, CA was spent racing from location to location. I had high hopes of being out all night shooting, but the overcast skies were quickly changing that. Thinking my window of time had passed I was on my way out of the park when I stopped to take this shot that became my favorite from the evening. A nearly full moon may wash out a bit of the sky, but the amount of beautiful light it casts on the foreground can absolutely be worth the trade off.
