I'd love to say I pre-planned this. Set the balloons up, envisioned the lighting and related the expression I wanted across to my young model.

BUT sadly I can't take any credit. Completely photojournalistic in its nature. I was shooting some family members at a party when my little niece came out of the dark hall with this expression and carrying the balloons. I bounced the flash i had off the ceiling and with her standing in front of a dark room it created a perfect backdrop.
