Most of the areas surrounding Tel Aviv and its satellite cities are built up. In this one enclave of undisturbed nature, between Hertzeliya and the next northern settlements, I found myself peering over the edge of a sea cliff. I wanted to capture the fright of standing so near the edge by focusing on the rock near me and somewhat blurring the beach and the sea. I loved the way the parallels play out . . . rock, strip of sand, breaking waves, reef, open sea.
