Great Herron

Every year Disney performs a bird count to document the number of different birds that inhabit their facilities in Orlando.

Last year the bird count was organized by our daughter who is a Research Fellow at the Animal Kingdom.

A number rare birds were spotted including bald eagles and short tailed hawks. However the best shot that I was able to capture is this Great Herron who was basking in the sun at the lagoon right in the middle of the Magic Kingdom.
