These tiny pine cones can be found all around Ketchikan, Alaska during most of the year. I scooped up a few this fall and set them on the deck, not yet sure what I was going to do with them. I later snapped a few pictures, not expecting any great results, but when turned to black and white it quickly became one of my favorite shots.
