Retreat

This photo was taken March 3rd of 2011. The same weekend of the devastating Japanese earthquake. The tide was advancing and receding at an incredible range. Still today I have sand in my tripod I can't get rid of, after getting caught by the unpredictable tide. I feel this picture sums up my "self discovery," as it was my first visit to Tofino, with my first real camera. I've been hooked on photography ever since.
