This HDR photo was taken just before dusk on an overcast day at Antietam National Battlefield in Sharpsburg, MD. Antietam is famous for having the single most deaths in 1 day during the entire Civil War. It is also one of the battlefields where the Irish Brigade gained its notoriety. There were mud puddles still on the ground, left over from a snow storm a few days before. This view from the sunken road (Bloody Lane) is facing NE towards a farm.
