Wilderness Buck

It's thought that the moon impacts a whitetail's rutting activity. But come January, in northern Wisconsin, most of the does have been bred and the rut is over. Subsequently, the male's testosterone level drops and he'll start to lose his antlers. However, I've noticed that if the bucks have sufficient food and the winter isn't too harsh, they can keep their antlers as late as March or even early April.
